LEGO Brand Retail Store Set 40145 Rapid Build and Review

I recently got the opportunity to visit a local LEGO Brand Retail Stores Grand Opening. After standing in line for too many hours, My family and I were lucky enough to get the giveaway of set 40145. It took awhile to get around to building the kit as a family.

The set is quite large for a giveaway. It has a footprint of 16x16 and can open up like a doll house to a footprint of 8x32. The front is nicely detailed with a model of Brickley. The LEGO Logo is a sticker on a white 2x2 tile. Two Segments of Brickley are visible and the head. Through the windows, the signature 2x4 brick is visible, and four tubes to hold LEGO sets on display. Beside it is a tan house with a red roof. similar to the one included in 3300003: LEGO Brand Retail Store Potentially set 31012: Family House? There can also be seen a blue jet. Could it be Set 31008: Thunder Wings? It also included a small penguin model. Could that mean we will be getting a creator pinguin model soon? Inside there is the models already mentioned and a bucket, perhaps holding clearance sets or parts to play with. along the sides in the back are sets. There are stickered 1x2 bricks in various colors representing different sets including 6754: Family Home, 2507: Fire Temple, 41013: Emma's Sports Car, 8402: Sports Car, 10671-1: Fire Emergency.

Along the back wall there is many 1x1 circular tiles representing the Pick a brick wall. There is a checkout counter with a printed screen and stacks of 1x1 clear circular plates representing the Pab buckets.

There is one minifigure included in the set. It is fairly normal using common parts. She has a handbag that I wish had a print for the LEGO logo. Overall, it is a great set for display, but only good for play when it is open. Even though the roof is removable, there is no space to maneuver the minifigure. It is a great set for it's price (free) and I am proud to display it.
